A1A was formed in 1991 when lead vocalist and guitarist Jeff Pike teamed up with Scott Nickerson, founder of the first Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Club in Atlanta, Georgia. What began as a one-man tribute quickly evolved into a full band that would go on to become the longest-running Jimmy Buffett tribute show in history.
In 1992, A1A won a Jimmy Buffett Sound Alike Contest for Margaritaville Records, bringing them to the attention of Jimmy Buffett himself. That same year, they were officially authorized by Buffett and his management team to perform as **“A1A – The Official & Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show”**—a distinction they still proudly hold today.
